Munich, 21st of May 2025 – In a joint venture, Euro Real Estate GmbH, the holding company of the Reiss & Co. Group, and THG Wohnen GmbH have acquired a c. 12,000 square metre development site in Garching, via the project company Projekt Garching Campus GmbH. The previous owner was a property developer based in southern Germany. Planning consent is secured by the development plan currently in force.

The property is situated right on the campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Garching. The plan is to construct an innovative four-storey student hall of residence, with around 12,300 square metres of floor space providing some 380 apartments.

The studio apartments will be fully furnished and equipped to meet the demands of modern and forward-looking student housing. In addition to study rooms, the plans include a gym and a landscaped roof terrace for urban gardening. 380 bicycle parking spaces, a modern mobility concept and Wirescore certification add the finishing touches to the facilities provided for the future residents, who can reserve their apartments using a digital booking system. LEED or BREEAM certification is being sought. Construction is scheduled to start in Q3/2026.

Public transport connections are via underground line U6, with the ‘München Garching’ and ‘München Garching-Forschungszentrum’ stops each within five minutes by bike. Line U6 runs directly to Munich Central Station, with a journey time of only 30 minutes. Bus routes 635 and X660 take around 35 minutes to reach Munich Airport, which is 18 km away.
